2021 vs 2020 Ford Raptor in blue and red

When it comes to off-road performance and style, few things can compare to the 2020 Ford Raptor. However, we do have news regarding the 2021 Ford Raptor, which might prove to be even better than the current model. At Phil Long Ford of Denver, we want to review the 2021 Ford Raptor price, release date, specs, engine options, and towing ability.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Release Date

In previous years, the Ford F-150 trucks have been released in October. Typically, the F-150 lineup comes first, with the Raptor to follow. If we continue with this trend, we can expect the 2021 Ford Raptor to arrive at our dealership in early 2021 after the 2021 F-150 debuts in late 2020.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Price

The 2020 Ford Raptor has a starting price of $53,455. If the model lineup remains the same, we can expect the 2021 Raptor models to be priced similarly with a slight markup.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor What's New?

For the 2021 Ford Raptor models, we can expect some minor styling upgrades and additional equipment added. However, one of the top rumors is that there will be a hybrid Raptor available in 2021. We don't have definitive information on that yet, but we look forward to learning more.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor - Improvements & Upgrades

The technology included with the 2021 Ford Raptor will include some significant updates. There will also be some styling upgrades to the interior. As far as the powertrain goes, the ten-speed automatic transmission was just introduced with the 2020 Ford Raptor, so we expect that to carry over as well.

2021 vs. 2020 Raptor Off-Road Capabilities

The 2021 Ford Raptor is created for off-road adventures. Because it requires more capability than the standard F-150 models, you can expect skid plates, four-wheel-drive, off-road suspension components, and a locking rear differential. If you want to make it even more capable, there are several upgrades you can add-on, just like with the 2020 Ford Raptor.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Engine Power

Unlike with the F-150, the 2020 Ford Raptor only comes with one engine option. The 450-horsepower turbocharged V6 will roll over into the new lineup. However, there is also news of the 2021 Ford Raptor becoming a hybrid model, for those that want more fuel savings.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Transmission

Both the 2020 and 2021 Ford Raptor come with a smooth-shifting ten-speed transmission. This standard equipment was introduced with the 2020 models and will continue into 2021.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Towing Capacity

There aren't any major changes planned for the 2021 Ford Raptor, other than the possibility of a hybrid model. As of now, we can expect to see the same towing capacity as the 2020 Ford Raptor, which equals between 6,000 and 8,000 pounds.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Payload

Again, without any major changes, the 2020 and 2021 Ford Raptor has a payload capacity of up to 1,200 pounds.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Curb Weight

We can safely assume that the 2021 Ford Raptor will contain the same curb weight as the current model. If this is the case, the numbers will range between 5,525 and 5,697 pounds.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Gross Weight

Unless we see some reasons for the 2021 Ford Raptor to become more lightweight, the gross weight of the new truck will range from 6,650 to 7,050 pounds.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor MPG

At this time, the current Raptor truck achieves 15/18 mpg. Without any changes to the powertrain, the numbers will remain the same. However, the 2021 Ford Raptor might also include a hybrid model, which will change the mpg numbers for the better.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Body Styles

The 2020 Ford Raptor is available as a Regular Cab, SuperCab or SuperCrew model. These options allow room for either three or six occupants. It appears that the 2021 Ford Raptor might not have a SuperCab model. However, there will still be room for three or six occupants with the other two choices.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Length

With the available body configurations and bed lengths available, we have varying Raptor lengths available. With both the 2020 and 2021 Raptor, we expect the numbers to remain the same, which measures between 220 and 250.5 inches.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Bed Length

You can customize the 2020 or 2021 Ford Raptor to suit your needs. Choose from a 5'5", 6'6" or 8' bed option to assure you have the carrying capacity you require.

2021 vs. 2020 Ford Raptor Colors

Interior :

Pick from a Carbon Fiber Package, the Blue Interior Accent Package, or Recaro Sport Seats that include Perforated Rhapsody Blue Alcantara Inserts.

Exterior:

There are nine color options, including Lead Foot, Rapid Red, Iconic Silver, Magnetic Grey, Ford Performance Blue, Oxford White, Velocity Blue, Race Red, and Agate Black.
