Choose From Multiple Powertrains and Hybrid Technologies

The 2022 Escape has a choice of hybrid or plug-in hybrid* with a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine. A 1.5L EcoBoost® and the 2.0L EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology are the available gas engines.

The available All-Wheel Drive with AWD Disconnect can disable the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain. AWD not available on Escape Plug-in Hybrid.

When equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, Escape Titanium and SEL with the available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine have a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. and Escape Hybrid or Escape Plug-In Hybrid* with the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine have a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 lbs.**
