2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness AWD â" 2.4L H-4 direct injection, DOHC with variable valve control and intercooled turbo producing 260 HP, paired to an 8-speed Lineartronic CVT; regular gasoline. This Wilderness-tuned Outback blends off-road readiness with everyday refinement, delivering responsive turbocharged power, confident all-wheel traction, and highway-friendly efficiency for long trips and daily drives.
Wireless smartphone mirroring via MySubaru, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto keeps navigation, music and messaging accessible on the center display without messy cords, so you can stay connected while keeping your attention on the road.
Hands-on steering assist with lane centering eases driver fatigue by gently guiding the Outback to remain centered in its lane, helping you maintain a steady course on long highway stretches while still requiring your hands on the wheel.
Forward collision mitigation constantly monitors the roadway ahead and prepares braking and alerts to help avoid or lessen the impact of a frontal collision, adding an important layer of proactive safety.
Front pedestrian impact prevention enhances awareness in busy environments by detecting pedestrians and taking preventative measures if a potential collision is identified, improving protection for people on foot.
Unresponsive driver assist provides an extra safety net: if the system detects prolonged driver inactivity it can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop and activate hazard lights, helping reduce the danger until help arrives.
An onboard mobile hotspot offers passengers reliable in-vehicle Wi-Fi so everyone can stream, work, or stay connected without eating into personal data plans during long drives.
The rear camera with washer keeps the backup view clear in muddy or wet conditions, making parking, reversing, and trailer hookups easier and safer by preserving visibility when you need it most.
Lane departure prevention works to correct unintended drifts and nudges the vehicle back into its lane, helping prevent accidental lane departures when your focus slips for a moment.
Rear collision mitigation watches traffic behind you and readies safety systems if a rear impact becomes likely, helping to reduce potential injury and damage from sudden rear-end situations.
Adaptive cruise control with traffic stop-go maintains a set distance from the car ahead and can bring the Outback to a stop and resume in heavy traffic, making congested commutes and long highway drives much less taxing.
With a turbocharged 2.4L engine, Lineartronic CVT, standard AWD and a wide range of modern driver aids and connectivity features, the 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness is designed to handle rugged weekend routes and comfortable daily driving alike. If you want a versatile wagon that emphasizes capability, safety, and connected convenience, this Outback is built to deliverâ"schedule a test drive to experience it firsthand

Most enjoyable car I have owned, I’m 81.
by Sliderule43 on 8/5/2026 9:40:28 PM
Purchased mid April and has 1500 miles. Top trim. Outback Touring XT. I’m continually amazed at how perfect this car is. Great value for the price. I use HANDS FREE often. Great feature. City mpg. 21. Expect it to improve. Interstate. 28 mpg. Most of my driving is 3.5 miles each way. Many lights. A real mpg killer. I traded in my 2024 Highlander Limited gas turbo model in with only 8,000 miles. The overall technology blows away the Highlander. I’m an active 81 and this is my first Subaru. I’ve become disappointed in Toyota products, in close to four months I can’t see a single thing I would change, - 5.0
Love this 2026 Outback
by carol j on 6/27/2026 4:57:17 AM
I bought a 2026 Outback Touring non turbo in Dec. 2025 and have driven 4400 miles. I did not want the turbo and Im happy with the 180 hp engine. I dont tow and this engine, while maybe it sounds underpowered, I think its perfect. I am surpassing the mpg ratings. Last week I drove from Spokane to Seattle and averaged 40 mpg w 95% highway driving. Combination driving I get 27 mpg. The car is very comfortable w 12 way driver seat inc 4 way lumbar and a leg extender. You will be comfortable in this car. I LOVE the hands free driving feature. Its the cat's meow!! The interior is very logically laid out and easy to learn. The Harman Kardon sound system is really nice. I find this car is like an old friend... inviting and easy to get along with. I researched cars for over a year and I think I made the best choice. - 5.0
