The all-new Ford Fusion redefines expectations of what a mid-sized sedan can deliver, with its sleek, aerodynamic new exterior design, high levels of quality craftsmanship, smart new technologies, and safety features. A new grille gives the Fusion a bold, distinctive look, and standard, low-profile laser-cut projector headlamps and LED tail lamps display intelligent technology. Available active grille shutters are designed to reduce air resistance. When closed, they reduce aerodynamic drag, enhancing efficiency. Fusion comes with a wide array of available wheel choices of up to 19 inches.
Thanks to the McPherson independent front suspension and intelligent multi-link independent rear suspension, the ride in the Ford Fusion is refined and comfortable. It also comes with AdvanceTrac® and traction control with torque vectoring control, which enhances front wheel grip and steering when cornering. The available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive uses sensors to constantly monitor traction and maximize it, typically before wheel slip can even occur. Fusion delivers plenty of technologies, like the available Lane-Keeping System, which alerts the driver if it detects unintentional lane departure, and - if needed - actively applies steering torque to help the driver direct the vehicle back into the lane. Drift control detects road conditions, like a crowned road surface or crosswinds, and adjusts the electronic power-assisted steering to compensate.
The Ford Fusion offers three engine choices. First, the 2.5L Duratec 16-valve inline-4 engine, which generates 170 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. Then, there are 2 available EcoBoost® engines: a 1.6L inline-4 EcoBoost® engine with 178 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, and an optional 2.0L turbo-charged direct-injection EcoBoost inline-4 engine with 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. All 3 are matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission with SelecShift®. Available steering wheel-mounted paddles allow you to shift quickly without removing your hands from the wheel. With the help of available Auto Start-Stop technology, the engine automatically shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop in city traffic, then seamlessly restarts the second your foot leaves the brake pedal.
Use available ambient lighting, with 7 color choices, to set the perfect mood. Available heated, leather-trimmed front seats add a touch of class to both the look and feel of the vehicle. Available 10-way power driver's seat with 3 memory settings and power lumbar, and 2-way power passenger seats with power recline allow for custom comfort and support. All this adds up to the style, comfort, and premium quality materials used in sculpting Fusion.
Voice-activated SYNC® with available MyFord Touch® allows you to control your phone, entertainment, climate, and available navigation system functions with simple voice commands. You can even have incoming text messages read aloud to you. SYNC® also includes 911 Assist. The advanced navigation system with Sirius XM Traffic and Sirius XM Travel Link® services has 5-way, steering wheel-mounted controls, which allow you to manually manage that information on twin 4.2-inch LCD cluster screens or a single 8-inch color center console LCD screen without taking your hands off the wheel. You can even create a wi-fi hotspot, affording your passengers internet connectivity. All Fusion models come standard with a CD-MP3 stereo that includes an auxiliary audio jack. Customers can also get the available 390-watt audio system from Sony®, with HD Radio™ technology.
Fusion is built with state-of-the-art safety technology. All Fusion models come standard with an SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ and 8 airbags (including driver and front passenger knee airbags). Also, the new body utilizes more high-strength steel for occupant protection. For Active Park Assist, simply push the button. It uses ultrasonic sensors to scan for a parking spot, and, with a little driver input, you're parallel parked. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross-Traffic Alert is designed to use radar to alert you if a vehicle is detected in your blind spot, with an indicator light in the corresponding side view mirror. Available Adaptive Cruise Control is designed to adapt its speed to maintain a chosen distance from the traffic in front of you. Forward collision warning simulates brake lights with a heads-up display that flashes on the windshield when it senses a potential collision with the vehicle in front of you. It then pre-charges the brakes for full responsiveness.
